MEA Office Elections

Dear MEA Members,

School buildings may be closed, but the work goes on. I would like to take a moment to thank the MEA Officers and Executive Board members for their continued hard work to represent our membership.

Sadly, but necessarily, due to the Governor’s stay at home order and restrictions on large gatherings, the MEA has decided to postpone the Annual Meeting and Celebration of Retirees to a later date, when it is safer for us all to be in the same space.

Annual elections for Officers however, will take place online on May 29

After much research and discussion, the MEA EBoard has agreed to use Survey Monkey to conduct the vote to ensure the security and anonymity of voting members. An email containing the link to the ballot will be sent out on May 29.

The names of those running for elected office are attached.

Also attached are two By Laws documents. One is proposed Formatting changes and the other, revised language and proposed By Law changes. All revisions and changes are highlighted.

I would like to thank the MEA Parliamentarian, Lisa Creamer and the members of the By Laws Committee for their diligent and thoughtful work reviewing and revising the current MEA By Laws. Work which was long overdue.

Stay Safe and Be Well,

Rupal
