This is the position the MEA is taking regarding the bus drivers’ labor action:
We encourage our members not to pick up extra before and after school coverage (paid or voluntary) that is posted as a result of the strike such as walking with students to school or being supervisory monitors since it goes against our solidarity as union members.
With this being said, each member needs to do what is right for themselves. None of us should judge another member because of their decisions. We need to stay together in solidarity with each other as we navigate this difficult time by showing each other kindness and respect.
